Good Golly, Miss Molly!

Well, we're here then!

Our first show (14:50-15:50 at The Banshee Labyrinth, by the way) was today as The Free Fringe kicked off.

With cast members Tina Sederholm, Stephanie Chan, and Katherine McMahon were our lovely Open Mic participants Max and Matt, and wonderful BBC Slam Champion 2012, Jenny Lindsay.

Nothing quite prepares you for a show. Any show, especially when, like ours, it will be deliberately different each day. We flyered the Mile and talked it up online, but none of us, I think, were quite prepared for how slick the setup was, how big the audience was, and how well (and how quickly) the show went. Something to be said for doing it before, eh? :)

The hour flew by, and everyone gave great poetry, and was so incredibly respectful of the show and their time limits. Doubtless we'll get someone over-running their open mic slot at some point and I'll have to step up, but it was ever-so refreshing to have a good first show like this!

It's odd, isn't it? It's easy to wax lyrical when things go wrong, but when they go right you find yourself saying: yeah, that was er, good, wasn't it? Hmm...

I'm so proud of us, and I'm really looking forward to the next show, starring cast members Tina Sederholm, Katherine McMahon, and Sophia Walker, hosted by me (Fay Roberts), with open mic randomness (which, if it pays off as well as this time - wahey!) and guest stars Kane, and G Yamazawa - all the way from the USA. It's going to be brilliant to see them perform in the flesh...

See you soon!
